A child’s bedroom should be a place where they can enjoy spending time and feel safe. Everyone needs their private corner and children are just the same. Light Bright lights trick the brain and make it difficult to fall asleep. The brain thinks it’s still the middle of the day and wants to stay active. It’s good to dim or even switch off the lights an hour before going to bed. It’s also worth considering to have a reading light and a light with a red bulb as a nightlight or if your child needs to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Dimmer switches are a good idea to regulate the brightness. You can also hang fairy lights that are loved by children and give a magical vibe to the room. There are different colors and shapes such as butterflies, stars or hearts depending on your child’s taste. There are plenty of storage options such as boxes that can be hidden under a bed, fabric bags, bookcases, and trays. Fabric bags can be easily washed in a washing machine, and the rest simply wiped. The bedroom will look much better, and there’s plenty of colors and styles of storage to choose from. 3. Noise The bedroom should be well insulated to keep noises away from the child. They can be distressing for them and make relaxing much harder. You don’t want to see your child stressed. Wooden floor with rugs or a carpet can help, and wooden blinds or soft shades are better than metal blinds. Background noise is helpful if your children share the bedroom or if the house is small and it’s easy to disturb them. Turning on a fan or radio on low volume can be a good solution. 4. Colors Colors are an essential element of a bedroom. They should be calming to create a relaxing environment for your child. Usually, light blue or pale pink are used, but colors like gray, light purple or light green can be considered as well. Red, black, bright orange or dark blue should be avoided because they can make your child too energized or sad. Busy patterns on the walls, bedding, and furniture should not be used either. Using too many colors isn’t recommended. White walls with some elements like stars or flowers may be a good idea. 5. Cozy space Children love stuffed animals, especially the big ones that they can cuddle with so filling the room with them will make it cozier. Big pillows that the child can hug at night and soft blankets are also great. Bedding and rugs should be soft and comfortable. Adding family pictures will make the child feel safe. A teepee or canopy can be an excellent hiding place where children can read books, play or have a nap. With these tips, your child should be happy in their cozy bedroom. They will have all they need and be happy to come back to their room to play, sleep and dream.
