What influences the prices of baby crib sheets?

Baby sheet prices vary according to the quality of the materials and the design. Some fabrics are more expensive than others. Similarly, sheets with unique designs are often more costly than basic options. Pricing can also depend on the brand and the store where your shopping.

This is why you’ll find options ranging from super cheap to very expensive.

Stores that sell baby crib sheets

There’s are so many stores that sell baby cribs sheets, especially online. To find the best of the hundreds of options, I’ve reviewed the most popular stores.

In general, I found that most baby sheets cost between $10 to $25, but you’ll see that it varies.

The price difference in colors and design

Most often, decorative designs and unique patterns cost more than your average set of white sheets. Etsy is a great example of this. However, you can also find fun patterned sheets at lower prices from Amazon, Target, and Walmart. Exciting crib sheets are the perfect way to decorate your baby’s room, but affordability depends on the design.

Do you want your baby’s sheets in plain white or decorative patterns? Baby crib sheets are sold in unlimited styles and designs, so you can choose your favorite look!

Further, the material used for patterned sheets will also affect the price!

The price difference in bedding material

The fabric you choose for your baby’s crib sheets is one of the most important factors influencing the cost. But it can also impact the quality of sleep for your baby. Because cheap material might irritate your baby’s sensitive skin or make it harder to sleep.

A great rule to follow is that if a fabric doesn’t feel good on you, it won’t feel good on your baby’s skin!

Here are the 9 most common baby bedding materials:

1- Cashmere

You might not think to use luxurious cashmere for your baby’s crib, but it’s a great option. Think of how soft cashmere feels on your skin – your baby will love it too!

  • Pros: soothes sick or grumpy babies
  • Cons: expensive

2- Cotton

The most common fabric used for baby sheets is cotton – it’s a soft, natural fiber, great for sensitive skin.

  • Pros: versatile and easy to wash
  • Cons: differences in quality

3- Flannel

Famously soft and warm, flannel is known to keep you cozy in the winter months. Most flannels are actually made of 100% cotton, so you’re getting all the benefits of cotton too.

  • Pros: soft and warm
  • Cons: too heavy for hot nights

4- Fleece

Fleece is another warm option if you live in a cold climate. Because it traps heat well, fleece is ideal for cold temperatures but not for warm weather.

  • Pros: super cozy
  • Cons: not ideal for warm climates

5- Jersey

If you look in your closet, most of your t-shirts are probably made with jersey fabric! Jersey is another form of cotton material.

  • Pros: soft, stretchy, and breathable
  • Cons: less durable

6- Percale

Percale is a type of weave usually made with cotton. The weave creates a lightweight sheet with the benefits of breathability and moisture control.

  • Pros: breathable and soft
  • Cons: varying quality

7- Polyester & Polyester-Blend

Polyester fabrics are made from synthetic materials. You might think of polyester as itchy or cheap, but good-quality polyester can be comfortable.

  • Pros: affordable
  • Cons: bad for sensitive skin

8- Sateen

Sateen is made from a satin weave for another silky option for your baby’s delicate skin. Sateen is great for colder temperatures because it retains heat better than other fabrics.

  • Pros: soft and affordable
  • Cons: less luxurious than silk

9- Silk

Silk is famously soft, so if you decide to set your baby’s crib with silk sheets, you can expect a comfortable sleep.

  • Pros: great for sensitive skin
  • Cons: expensive

Sheet Packs vs. Bedding Sets

While sheet packs contain the same types of sheets, bedding sets contain various bed accessories. Sets are more expensive because they include multiple sheets and accessories, so you can fully dress your toddler’s bed.

They range in price:

  • Bedding sets (including crib accessories): $50-$600
  • Sheet packs (sets of 2 or more sheets): $25-$100

However, infants should only have a fitted sheet on their bed. Hold on to the cute blankets and flat sheets until your child is old enough.

How many crib sheets do I really need?

The amount of crib sheets you need depends on how often you want to change your baby’s sheets and do the laundry. I always check my baby’s sheets for wet areas and stains. I have 4 sheets for my baby’s crib, and I feel like I’m constantly doing my kids’ laundry.

The following estimates should keep you from having to wash sheets 24/7!

  • 2-3 sheets work for changing once a week
  • 5-7 sheets are ideal for changing every day
  • In general, 2-4 fitted sheets should work
